Man is losing religion, and the Earth is losing forests
The following is an excerpt from a samvaad (dialogue) session with Acharya Prashant.
Question: Acharya Ji, you often discuss that just as species are getting extinct at a very fast rate in the 21st century, certain qualities of the being of the mind are also getting extinct — qualities like patience, care for others, compassion. Probably these are the manifestations of de-religionization that might show up later on.
The mind of the average person does not have certain qualities that used to exist earlier.
Acharya Prashant (AP):
Deforestation of the earth, and de-religionization of the man’s mind are proceeding hand-in-hand.
And there is a great correlation between the two.
Both are being brought about by man’s burgeoning greed, and self-centeredness, and lust for consumption.
