Thinking about silence is not silence

The biggest impact too is just an impact; the holiest impact too is just an impact. The word “silence” too is just noise. Even when you are thinking about thoughtlessness you are still thinking. That does not mean, by the way, that you stop thinking.

It’s enough if we do not start believing that thoughtlessness is not another thought — don’t get into that trap. If you have to do anything with thought all you get is another thought. Stay with this.

If you have to do anything with your conditioning then all you get is more conditioning, because one layer can only beget another layer. You start from a position that you are conditioned: all that you will get is more conditioning.

Even if starting from the position that you are conditioned, your intention is to clear that conditioning.

In your own personal wisdom, you are saying, “You see, here I stand on this layer of conditioning and my intention is to clear this conditioning.” But rest assured, if you stand conditioned, if that is your self definition then everything that you do only fetches you more conditioning.

If you start from the thought saying, “I just think too much, and thinking is a burden, so let’s become thoughtless,” all you get is more thought. Maybe thought of a different colour; maybe thought with a different…
